HHES PTSA September General Meeting Minutes

In attendance: Saja Lynn, Christopher Taylor, Barbara Lyons, Cathy Taylor, Drew Davis, Amy Rice, Jackie Woods, Angela Hunn, Elisa Mendez, Matt Sereno, Desiree Strege, Bardyn Martinez, Molvin

Meeting Called to order at 6pm

Introductions: name & relation to HHES

• AzPTSA Conference Saja and Christopher went to the summer conference.
• Master Calendar 
  • Title night october 11, 530-7pm AZ science center coming for engineering activities. 
  • PTSA selling concessions saja assigned costing supplies
  • Butter braid fundraiser to fund the spring carnival
• Budget
  • School is asking for funding to provide snacks for title nights
  • Grants vs teacher reimbursement stipend
    • Discussion: Requesting line item for grants to fund classroom changes explained by Christopher
    • Perhaps change to reimbursement for a set amount of time rather than the whole year.
  • Motioned to have a dec 31 deadline for teacher reimbursement then remainder goes to grant fund- Cathy, Seconded by Jackie Woods, Motion carried
  • Motion to approve budget- Christopher, Seconded Saja, Motion carried
• T-shirt Design
  • Only one design was submitted, approved. Shirt color options discussed dark heather decided on.
• Secretary vacancy
  • Discussed the job description and requirements. 
• Audit Committee for 2021/22 school year discussed and 
• Website: what is on it and how to reach it.
• Vote on Bylaws, Minutes, & Budget
  • Standing rules: Christopher motion, Matt second, Motion carried
  • Last minutes: Christopher motion, Barbara second, Motion carried
  • AZ bylaws adopted
• Additional Updates:
  • School Council: Cathy is to volunteer and to meet up with Dr Davis regarding the requirements/expectations
  • Student council ran by Dr Lando
• Teacher Liaison to be Amy Rice and Angela Hunn 
• Principal Report 
  • PVUSD on ballot in november on funding override Dr Davis passed out info sheets for the initiative. 
  • Great start to the year.
